Chapter 5 Are We Scaring Our Kids?

No, I definitely do not think that we are scaring our kids, but as a matter of fact, I do think that the word is getting around about stranger/danger. The more parents, teachers, and other school/public official reiterate the importance of not talking of being friendly to people you do not know can help our children stay safe and be aware of their surroundings. Sometimes children get into trouble by speaking to someone they are unfamiliar with and no one told them about the dangers about speaking to strangers but also wanted to help him find his little lost puppy. After a couple of incidents about children getting into cars with strangers to locate his little lost puppy and ended up getting killed. Children are now becoming more aware about strangers and what can happen to them if they get into their cars.

  1. I have had a few friends who have had bad experiences with strangers. One was actually grabbed on her way to her house after school but Thankfully got away. I believe that there can never be too much emphasis on "Stranger Danger". The more the better.

  2. This is how I feel on the stranger danger subject: young children are raised to believe that people we know are safe to be around. Children are not safe anymore. It's a sad fact to accept but it is true. We have to emphasize on talking to people period. Strangers aren't the only ones approaching kids, people we trust are out there doing wrong also. I personally have a issue when it comes to children talking to certain people. You never know what that person is thinking. On a positive note, the world would be a better place if we just keep these "BAD" people in prison for life.
